# BIOS / UEFI

PUBG, EFT and standalone SPOOFER require:

| Setting | State |
| ----------------------- | -------- |
| Boot mode | UEFI |
| Secure Boot | Disabled |
| Hardware virtualization | Disabled |

The checker shows these settings. Change them in your computer's firmware.

## Before making changes

Check the boot mode in the checker. If it says Legacy, [contact support](/desync-docs/russkii/english/troubleshooting-and-support.md) before preparing a switch to UEFI. Simply changing the mode can prevent the installed Windows system from starting.

If device encryption / BitLocker is enabled, make sure you have the recovery key beforehand. Changes to boot settings may require it at the next startup.

## Enter BIOS / UEFI through Windows

1. Save your open documents.
2. Open Start → Power. Hold Shift and click Restart.
3. On the recovery screen, choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → UEFI Firmware Settings.
4. Click Restart. The PC will open BIOS / UEFI settings.

## Enter BIOS / UEFI using a startup key

You can also enter BIOS immediately after turning on or restarting the PC, without using the Windows menu.

1. Save your work and restart the PC, or turn it on if it is off.
2. Immediately after power-on, before Windows begins loading, press the BIOS key repeatedly. This is usually Del (Delete) or F2.
3. Wait for BIOS / UEFI to open. If Windows has already started loading, let it finish, restart, and begin pressing the key earlier.

The exact key depends on the motherboard or laptop model. Check the startup-screen prompt or the manufacturer's manual.

This method also works when Windows does not show UEFI Firmware Settings. The absence of that menu item does not by itself identify your boot mode; check it in the checker.

## What to change in BIOS / UEFI

If needed, enter Advanced Mode. Its name and activation method depend on the model.

1. Find Secure Boot, usually under Boot, Security or Authentication. Set it to Disabled.
2. Find hardware virtualization: Intel Virtualization Technology for Intel, or SVM Mode / AMD-V for AMD. Set it to Disabled.
3. Save with Save & Exit and start Windows.
4. Run the checker again.

Names and locations vary. If an option is missing or unavailable, send support the motherboard / laptop model and photos of the relevant BIOS screens. Do not apply another model's settings blindly.

Clear Secure Boot Keys / Delete Secure Boot Keys removes the Secure Boot keys. This is a separate action, not a mandatory part of disabling Secure Boot. Use Disabled where available. Modify keys only following the manufacturer's instructions for your model or support's guidance.

Hardware virtualization, Hyper-V components and hypervisor launch through BCD are different settings. Windows options are covered in [PC preparation](/desync-docs/russkii/english/pc-preparation.md).
