# Missing components

**Failed to load dependency: VCRUNTIME140\_1.dll** means that a Visual C++ library could not be loaded. Install or repair the package using the steps below.

## Example

The PowershellLoader window names the library VCRUNTIME140\_1.dll.

## What to do

1. Close the error window and loader.
2. Download Visual C++ v14 using the links below. On Windows 10/11 x64, install both x64 and x86 packages; neither replaces the other.
3. Run each installer and finish installation. If Repair is available instead, use it.
4. Restart the PC if requested by the installer.
5. [Open the loader again](/desync-docs/russkii/english/launching-the-loader.md).

## Download Visual C++

* [Visual C++ — x64](https://aka.ms/vc14/vc_redist.x64.exe).
* [Visual C++ — x86](https://aka.ms/vc14/vc_redist.x86.exe).
* [Microsoft's current packages](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist).

Install the library through the Visual C++ package, not by downloading an individual DLL. Other required components are listed in [PC preparation](/desync-docs/russkii/english/pc-preparation.md).

## If the error remains

Contact [@desync\_support\_bot](https://t.me/desync_support_bot). Attach the full error screenshot and say which packages you installed or repaired. If an installer also reports an error, include that screenshot. Add a checker TXT report if available.

If another DLL is named, send its complete name: a different component may require a different package.
